About David
Hello web visitor! Welcome to my small corner of the online world. This site is all about my work as a music producer and recording engineer. It's hard to believe, but it's been my professional life for 30 years now.
I started out in small town Pennsylvania recording local artists as a high school kid. I earned my degree in Sound Recording Technology from SUNY Fredonia where I was blessed to study under producer, David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT, Tame Impala).
Since then I've been running an independent studio in Los Angeles, as well as several years spent in London and an old church studio in central NY. Since moving back to LA in 2010, Oak House Recording has been my home.
I got into the studio life because I loved writing songs and became obsessed the art of capturing them. It was an addictive blend of creativity, ideas, technical puzzles and building relationships, and I enjoy it just as much today as I did in the beginning.
Being able to work with some of the best people in the industry and leaders in song-craft is certainly a gift, but I'm also inspired by the enthusiasm of new artists making their first records. Going into the studio can be complicated, expensive and stressful, but it's always been my mission to keep it easy, efficient and fun. Making great music starts with making sure we enjoy each other, the space, and the journey!
Beyond making music, I'm a happy husband and father of two. I'm also a certified personal coach, speaking regularly with people about the common challenges we all face in our daily lives and relationships. You can learn more about that by clicking here.
